Photograph of a busy street scene on King Street, looking north from Beaufain Street from the Kress & Co. 5 and 10 Cent Store on the left (then located at 245 King) and the Federal Clothing Store (244 King). The Francis Marion Hotel can be seen in the background. Trolley car and automobiles are on the street and pedestrians are walking on the sidewalks. The five buildings at the lower right -- 244 King, 246 King, 248 King, 250 King, and 252 King Street were demolished for the construction of Charleston Place. |
