Appendix includes "Sketch of the History of Charleston, S.C." (1670-1776, after the Revolution), which contains reports of the cultivation of rice, cotton, and indigo; statistics on the slave trade; the destruction of old St. Philip's Church in 1835; the Great Fire of April 27, 1838.
