    Constructed ca. 1853-54; partially restored and rehabilitated 1980s. Although built in 1853 by Sara Smith, probably by a contractor from the North, the row was taken over during the Civil War by William C. Bee, who owned a blockade-running firm. During the war the row was known as Bee's Block and was used partially as warehouses and stores. A small court running behind the buildings is today humorously called "Wasbee Range."
