Constructed ca. 1745. This early Charleston alley, originally named for the local blacksmith Justinus Stoll, contains several early brick dwellings. 7 Stoll's Alley, built and inhabited by Stoll, initially had a two-room plan, which was later changed with the addition of a passage to accommodate 19th century tenants. File contains narrative history (by GMH); FOHG house history (1995); house history from Information for Guides of Historic Charleston (1984); first floor plan; brief historical/chain-of-title research notes; photocopy of photograph of Stoll's Alley before ca. 1930 restoration. |
