Notes |
Catalog record was originally in Objects catalog; initial cataloger not identified but may have been Jill Koverman. Initial record was scant, but completed in Nov. 2008 by Karen Emmons. Began with Mar. 16, 1801 issue. Ceased publication in 1821(?) (publication note, CofC online catalog record). Microfilmed in 2009 by Allen Stokes, part of USC South Caroliniana's Newspaper Project. Should be available on microfilm at University of South Carolina/South Caroliniana Library. Full text available from America's Historical Newspapers, 1690-1922. In August, 2016, HCF staff Karen Emmons, Katherine Pemberton, and April Wood began to look through the pages for items related to Nathaniel Russell, James Missroon, prominent buildings and places, craftsmen, builders, architects, info pertaining to decorative arts, and architectural features. See Media tab for PDFs. Master list will be attached when completed. (4/26/2021: project never completed.) Contents include: advertisement for the runaway slave named Doll posted by James Missroon; advertisements for "pavillion gauze"; advertisement for Samuel O'Hara, house and sign painter, referencing his work at Nathaniel Russell's house. |
