Scope & Content Photographs (scans of 102 negatives) taken by Sabina Elliott Wells ca. 1898-1899: scenes in Charleston, northwest South Carolina (Table Rock and vicinity), and western North Carolina (Flat Rock and vicinity).

Wells was a Charleston artist, designer, and Newcomb potter who resided at 44 South Battery.

Collection also contains a photocopy of one of her journals (July 1898-March 1899) in which some of her travels are described that appear to be documented by these photographs. There is also information (scant) about Wells's pottery, a copy of her passport photo, and the catalog record for the SCHS's holdings.
