Construction date not established, but appears to have been built about 1853 by John S. Bee. Although not listed in the Historic Architecture Inventory of Charleston, the structure is more than 100 years old and retains many of its original architectural features. Stands on a lot that was originally part of a larger tract in the Village of Hampstead.
