|Title||114 Alexander Street (Francis B. Hacker House)|
|Object Type||Property File|
|Scope & Content||
Constructed ca. 1880. Italianate details ornament this two-and-one-half story dwelling built by Francis Hacker after he acquired the lot in 1876. The understated bowed piazza follows the lines of the first-floor bay window, and second-story French doors reflect the solid craftsmanship of Charleston's postbellum carpenters. (Poston, Buildings of Charleston.)
File contains handwritten (staff) research sources notes, with reference to Tax Map # and 1886 Earthquake information.
