Title HCF Publications and Publicity: Annual Reports, Newsletters, Brochures, Events, Posters, Etc.
Object Type Series
Scope & Content Newsletters and electronic updates, annual reports, brochures, and event-related materials produced by Historic Charleston Foundation. Brochures include those that promote HCF as a whole or its museum properties individually, as well as for educational programs and technical outreach. Event materials include invitations and other materials fundraising and celebratory events. (Note: Items for the Festival of Houses and Gardens (FOHG) and for the Charleston International Antiques Show (CIAS) are in separate boxes.)

Box 1:

Annual Reports: Contains summary of the year's accomplishments and activities; includes lists of Trustees, staff, donors, Festival homeowners, award recipients, and more. Collection consists of annual reports for 1996 to the present.

Newsletters: Contains updates on HCF's activities and involvement in preservation issues; includes staff (and intern) news, events, award recipients, etc. (See Historic Charleston Reproductions document box for HCR newsletters.)

Electronic Updates: Published periodically to keep constituents informed of breaking preservation news and HCF activities. Collection consists of the following issues: July 2008 through the present.

Docent Dialogue: Newsletter created for museum house docents. Include brief biographical sketches of featured docents, articles of interest, training information, etc. Collection consists of the following issues (incomplete run): 1990?, Oct. 1991, Nov. 1991, Dec. 1991, Spring 2001

Box 2:

Invitations include 50th anniversary; Charter Day; gala opening of the Missroon House; Kitchen Tour/Charleston Entertains; Wine Tasting & Auction; Louisiana Jazz; volunteer/homeowner picnics; and other celebrations.

Brochures include HCF general information and HCF properties; "Landmarks in Use" tours; educational events and technical outreach; miscellaneous tours and workshops; and preservation issues.

Box 3:

Miscellaneous publicity, articles, reports, etc. Includes ; "2012 Charleston International Antiques Show Survey Report" (ecomonic impact study, 2012) and "2012 Festival of Houses and Gardens Survey Report" (ecomonic impact study, 2012).
