This 3-story brick house currently sits on a lot that was originally part of Lot 102 of the Grand Modell. The structure may have been constructed by 1788 by the owners at the time, William Screven and later his heirs. By 1828, the Charleston Port Society for the Promotion of the Gospel Among Seaman maintained a home at 52 Church Street.
